Clear Spring is a charming three block town in Washington County, Maryland. Founded in 1821 by farmer turned developer Martin Myers, the 0.11 square mile that comprises Clear Spring is home to fewer than four hundred residents. From 1825 to the 1850s, the town was a bustling economic hub. Decades later, as a route to the west, the automobile reinvigorated the town. Since the construction of Interstate-70 to the south, Clear Spring has remained a sleepy community at the base of Fairview Mountain.
Nearby, residents have several options in restaurants and retailers, particularly in southwest Hagerstown. Valley Plaza and Crossing Point Shopping Centers provide a number of amenities, including a sixteen screen cinema. Clear Spring is a stone’s throw from many lovely local, state and national parks along the Potomac River. There are endless choices when it comes to outdoor recreation. Camping, hiking, cycling and fishing among the most popular.
The homes in this quaint, family friendly community are inexpensive to moderately priced. A small number of newly constructed homes hold a higher price tag for the area and offer additional amenities.
